Pastor Steve Smail serves as the Senior Pastor of Lighthouse Baptist Church in Plainwell, Michigan. He joined the church staff in August 2005, initially serving in roles such as Associate Pastor, Youth Pastor, and Director of the Bus and Visitation Ministries. He also oversaw the Jail and Juvenile Home Ministries. In March 2014, following the resignation of Dr. Jerry L. Bowen, Pastor Smail was elected as the Senior Pastor by the church members . 

Pastor Smail grew up in a pastor’s home, which provided him with early exposure to the workings of a local New Testament church. He is known for his dedication to ministry and his commitment to the church’s mission. Under his leadership, Lighthouse Baptist Church continues to support various ministries and missionaries, reflecting his commitment to outreach and community service .
